Matt (to me): "Kettle, let me introduce you to the pot."

Yup, I definitely called the kettle black today... (or wait, i know I screwed that up) ^_^
good conversations, I tell ya....

I find it absolutely humorous....and if ya don't understand, its probably because you don't need to! :) It's just funny how things happen in life...  always seems to work out for the best in the end though. I know I'm pretty happy to be the black kettle... seems that the black pot is getting along pretty well too...

Now, its 12:15am.... I have to be up at 8am for class tomorrow... I have a TON of homework to do for Friday. It's gonna be difficult. Plus I have to pack and do some laundry before I leave for Canada on Friday (technically Saturday at 1:00 in the morning).

Oh, and it seems that I shall become Dr. Bates' ringer again this year.....Yes, I definitely got roped into playing the Americana concert....I'm a sucker, what can I say....

Wow, it doesn't feel like it has been 5 years, but it has....
I still remember that day really well... and finding out... I was sitting in first hour, band, with Mr. Meyers... (one of my least favorite people). My principle at the time came in and pulled Mr. Meyers aside to tell him some news. When our director came back he just shrugged it off, told us that a plane had just crashed into the World Trade Center. That was all he made mention of it and we went about our rehearsal. Next hour, geometry, everyone's eyes were glued to the TV screen. I was soo confused as to what was going on at this time because band seemed like an ordinary day. When I saw the pictures on the TV screen I was in aww... My first thoughts were like "how could a pilot NOT miss those huge buildings??" and then someone filled me in as to what was happening. That they thought the planes had been hijacked and purposefully flown into the tower. Then while in geometry we saw the second plane hit the second tower. Lunch and study hall was spent with everyone trying to make sense of what was happening. Could someone really want to cause this much damage and havoc to the United States? Third hour was again spent watching the news. However, fourth hour, Spanish, was not. My spanish teacher said, and I agree with him, that if we don't continue our normal lives and stop everything just for the terrorists, then they win. His philosophy is that he should continue teaching and we should continue learning, just like a normal day of school. When we wasted an entire day of classes to watch the TV repeat the footage over and over, we stopped our normal everyday lives and practically gave the terrorists what they wanted. Now I'm not saying that we should just ignore the event altogether, because you can't... but to stop everything... they win then. Look at how much things have changed in the past 5 years... How awful it is to fly because of all the restrictions and security checks... Even after 5 years, it has only gotten worse and my spanish teacher still holds to his opinion... if we continue to change our lives because of these terrorist's actions, they have won.... September 11... always remembered....

Switching to another note now... I had a very heart stopping moment earlier today after I paid my credit card bill. I decided I would go online and make sure everything was correct in my check book, even though I haven't touched it since I came out to school. When I logged on to my bank's website and saw my account summary I freaked! My "current balance" matched what I showed in my check book. However, my "available balance" (which is like adding in memo posts and transactions that haven't completely gone thru yet) said I was in the hole $130.... AHHHH!!! There was no way I could have been in the hole, cuz I watch it way too closely. So I was going through my history and seeing nothing. Then I clicked on details and it said I had a -$800 balance adjustment.... What the hell?!?! So rather than continuing to panic, I decided to call my bank and figure out what was going on. When I talked to the lady she was just as baffled as I was because there were no records of this $800 adjustment. She reassured me they would get right on this problem and fix it so that my credit card payment wouldn't bounce. Stupid internet banking and trying to steal my money and stop my heart....

Yet another note, marching band is practically consuming my life. We perform for the first time next weekend and then go to Canada the weekend after that. I am super excited to go to Montreal, however, I think it will be a lot of riding on a bus rather than actually visiting around the city. Oh well, I will be in good company.... :)

Now ending my procrastination and back to my homework....

Been back at ONU since Sunday...

Back with my amazing boy ^_^

Back in to the swing of marching band...

Back to marching in the rain and a COMPLETELY muddy field...

You can't get much better than this...

Oh Affinity... how I can't wait to live in you!

So after talking to Kristen tonight (who was standing in our new building as I was talking to her), I can not WAIT to move in on Saturday!! I think our rooms are gonna be soo freakin' awesome! I'm uber excited... thats all I have to say about that!

I went shopping today for like the rest of the stuff I needed for school. It was a very successful day in the drain my bank account world. Eh, what can ya do though?

And now... I suppose I should go to bed.

I'm getting pissed... no wait, I am pissed now.

So for anyone who didn't know, my frames for my glasses definitely melted when I went to Cedar Point in July. That happened on a Saturday so I waited until Monday to call my eye doctor and re-order some frames so I could have glasses when I got home from Ohio. I talk to the guy, he tells me they will order them right away and they will be in the office for me to pick up in a week. That is MONDAY (July 31). So I get home on August 5th and have heard nothing from their office. I get a call on TUESDAY (8 days later) saying that they have been unable to order my exact same frames because they have discontinued them in black. I talk to Sara (one of the nurses there) and tell them to order the next darkest color. She says she will do this right away before she leaves that night. I ask her how long it is still gonna be, she tells me they will put a rush on them and have the frames in the office by FRIDAY (the 11). I call over there Friday at like 4 after I got off work. I talk to Sara again and she tells me that they haven't come in but she is sure they will be there TUESDAY. So yesterday was Tuesday, I heard nothing from them. I call the office today, and talk to Vicki (finally one of the nurses I like) and she goes and checks to see if they have come in and says she doesn't have them in the office. But she is like "they should be here by now" cuz finally someone looks at the date of how long its been since I have been trying to get these. So she says she will call the lab and get right back to me. So like 5 minutes later, she calls me back and tells me that the lab has not received my order yet. They were still waiting on confirmation of which frames to send. YOU KNOW HOW MAD THIS MAKES ME??? I told Vicki that I had talked to Sara last week and told her which frames to send and she said she called in the order before she left that night. Well Vicki tells me that when she just talked to the lab they had no record of anyone calling them back after they had told them the black was discontinued. So Vicki tells me that they MIGHT (and she emphasized might) be in by Friday but not to count on them until TUESDAY or WEDNESDAY of next week. This means that it will have been over 3 WEEKS, just about FOUR by the time I can finally stop wearing my contacts 24/7 and get my frames. AND if they don't come in the next Tuesday, I won't be able to get my frames until someone can mail them to me... which means at least another week. And then I would have to take them somewhere to have them adjusted for my face because I won't be around to have that done.

Moral of this stupid story: When a doctor's office tells you things will be there in a week for you to pick them up because they understand you are without glasses and CAN'T SEE, you are probably going to end up waiting a FREAKIN' MONTH! I still wonder what they would have done if I would have answered "no" when they asked me if I had contacts. Would that have sped of the process any because I would have been practically blind this whole time???

Yeah, I'm definitely pissed right now... these glasses better be freakin free....
